Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Garden & Craft Fair this year which was officially opened by Lady Portal MBE DL. Congratulations to all on the Fundraising Committee for organising such a successful event. We are delighted to have raised over £10,000
Winchester Go LD Chair, Kevin Stevens explains “This was our first large event since the pandemic started and we were all quite trepidatious, especially after the torrential rain we have had recently! However the sun was definitely shining on us.
We are very grateful to our key guests Bob McQueen from Hilliers, who hosted several popular gardening Q&A sessions and Louise Bradshaw of Creative Flora, whose equally popular flower arranging workshops were donated gratis. The stunning garden of Katie and Simon Browne was the perfect backdrop for the fair which held a vast selection of plant stalls from nurseries across Hampshire as well as garden products, unique gifts and produce.
We rely on our volunteers across all aspects of the charity and for these events our reach goes even further.
Local MP Steve Brine posted “Such a pleasure to stop by today’s Summer fair organised by Winchester Go LD in Headbourne Worthy. A great cause and a great service to show there is no reason WHATSOEVER to cancel these outside events. All was safe and beautifully organised. Well done everyone involved.”
With over 500 visitors, the funds raised will help with running costs for Winchester Go LD, who offer free memberships to adults with learning disabilities in the Winchester area.
