About Us

At Winchester Go LD we empower adults with learning disabilities to live life to the full with the choices and independence that they want. We celebrate self-development, friendship, confidence, creativity and learning. We provide advocacy, weekly face to face and online fitness, music, craft, activity and social groups, regular walk and talks, a summer programme of social activities and a variety of projects, for example focusing on wellbeing or travel. We also raise awareness by attending local events, support members to have their voices heard to improve services for people with learning disabilities and we co-organise the annual Paralympic Personal Bests event.

The Role

We are looking for a collaborative CEO to lead our small staff and volunteer team; oversee operational and organisational delivery and work with the board to continue to develop our strategy and focus. Winchester Go LD is currently in a strong financial position, however as the funding environment is a challenging one, financial planning and driving income generation will be a key part of the role.

The role is office based at The Arc, Winchester, SO23 8SB and will involve some evening and weekend work. We recognise the importance of helping employees balance their work and home lives, and hybrid and flexible working arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate before taking up the role.

About You

We are looking for an inclusive leader with experience supporting a team of staff and volunteers and an understanding and passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities to thrive. Successful candidates will have strong financial acumen for fundraising, budgeting and resource management; a track record of stakeholder engagement and strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills. Ideally, we would like candidates to have experience of co-production, safeguarding, impact measurement and local knowledge of Winchester and District.
