Supporting Us

How you can help us

Our committee members and volunteers contribute their time and resources to Winchester Go LD across a wide range of activities.

We would also welcome your involvement in fundraising for the charity.   Would you like to organise a sponsored event?   Click here to visit our JustGiving Fundraising site.

As a charity fundraising is vitally important to us.   We rely on donations, grants and fundraising to meet the cost of our services.

Your donation can help us to provide:

£10 one Afternoon Tea session – usually 10 – 15 members attend each session

£50 weekly Circuits Sessional Workers – usually 20 members attend each session

£250 for each Person Centred Plan – 1:1 staff time to complete a plan over 6 weeks

£500 for a 6 week training course for 8 members

  • Are you retired or simply have spare time on your hands?
  • Could you give us one or two hours a week?

If the answer is yes to any of the above Winchester Go LD would love to hear from you.  We are looking for volunteers to help with our social groups and to meet members 1:1 as part of our Buddy Scheme.  Or maybe you have technical or business skills to volunteer.

We are very grateful to all our amazing and generous volunteers.

Our current team includes Adam, Chris, Charmian, Martin.  The Winchester College students who support our activity on Tuesday and Peter Symonds students who help with Low Level Circuits and Santander for supporting our Paralympics Personal Bests every year.

Christmas Cards

Every year Winchester Go LD members demonstrate their enormous creative talent and ability to work as a team and we have produced a Christmas card which is sold to raise funds and awareness of the charity.

We have sent small packs of paint, card, design templates and collage materials to 25 members prior to the design and painting sessions.  With the support of artist, Julia Gardner, we have helped everyone produce a picture that can be pieced together as a final group collage. Our members are creative, colourful, fun loving and outgoing – that their art reflects these qualities.

We will be selling our cards, tags and wrapping paper at local fundraising events and through our friends, families and supporters.

We will also sell our cards via our website. For those who don’t send Christmas cards by post, we will produce a Christmas e-card to send by email with a recommended donation of £1 per e-card.
Money generated from card, tag and wrapping paper sales will support the on going year on year sustainability of the project, raise awareness and provide valuable revenue for our charity.
