Supporting Us

How you can help us

Our committee members and volunteers contribute their time and resources to Winchester Go LD across a wide range of activities.

We would also welcome your involvement in fundraising for the charity.   Would you like to organise a sponsored event?   Click here to visit our JustGiving Fundraising site.

As a charity fundraising is vitally important to us.   We rely on donations, grants and fundraising to meet the cost of our services.

Your donation can help us to provide:

£15 one Walk & Talk – we have been offering this 1:1 session with our members during the Covid pandemic.

£40 one hour Community Advocacy – we listen and support our members to have their voice heard

£50 Afternoon Tea per session (excluding general running costs) – 20 members attend this online session

£70 for one Exercise class session – our popular online fitness classes

  • Do you love people and would you like to work with adults with learning disabilities?
  • Are you retired or simply have spare time on your hands?
  • Could you give us one or two hours a week?
  • Do you live in Winchester or the surrounding areas?

If the answer is yes to any of the above Winchester Go LD would love to hear from you.  We are looking for volunteers to help with our social groups and to meet members 1:1 on a Walk and Talk as part of our Buddy Scheme.  Or maybe you have technical or business skills to volunteer.

We are very grateful to all our amazing and generous volunteers.

Thank you to the current team which includes Chris, Alice,  Shelley,  Marjon, Charmian, Martin, Suzanne and Adam.  Our zoom groups are also supported by students from Winchester University.

Winchester College students were a popular addition to our Drop-in Lunches at the Discovery Centre pre lockdown, we hope to see everyone there again soon!

The Paralympics Personal Bests have been supported for many years by the staff at Santander.

Please visit our Resources Pages for our volunteer application forms or email to find out more.
