Without you, Winchester Go LD wouldn’t be what it is today.
We have an amazing group of volunteers whose kind and dedicated support enables us to do more activities and more Walk & Talks with our members. Our members are sociable and they like to have fun!
Winchester’s large student community has formed strong links with the charity, and we are delighted to have volunteers from Peter Symonds College at Saturday Circuits and Winchester College at Tuesday drop-in. Winchester University students get involved with all our groups and Walk & Talks.
We are proud to continue offering the opportunity for new volunteers to give back and form long-lasting relationships with our community.
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities and there is no set amount of time that you have to offer. We will do everything we can to work around your availability and some volunteering can even be done from your own home.
You’ll receive guidance and training and will be allocated a member of staff for on-going support.
As a volunteer you will be recompensed for any out-of-pocket expenses, and we may ask you to complete a DBS check for any of the Adult regulated volunteering roles (this will be explained depending on the role).
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills, gain experience in the learning disability charity sector, build contacts and friendships in the Winchester area. But mostly it is about doing something good and making a difference to people with learning disabilities and autism and – of course – having fun!
If you’d like to talk through any of the roles we’d be happy to answer any questions. Please phone us on 01962 600281 or email miranda@winchestergold.org.uk
Please complete the short online contact form here and we will be in touch with you very soon.
We are looking to welcome a new volunteer to our fundraising team.
Our Fundraising Committee host several small events each year and one major event, currently the Garden and Craft Fair in the spring.
As a member of our Fundraising Committee, you would attend about 6 committee meetings each year and assist with planning and setting up our events.
Our fundraising events are great opportunities for us to connect with our supporters and to share information about the fantastic work our small charity achieves.
Our members play a key part in most of our fundraising events.
This is a perfect role for someone with enthusiasm, energy and new ideas to help the charity to continue its valuable work in supporting the learning disability community in the Winchester area.
