Our focus is to enable adults with learning disabilities to live life to the full with the choices and independence that they want. We promote self development, friendship, self confidence, creativity and learning. We also like to have fun!
We have a range of weekly and monthly activities and we provide advocacy, information, safeguarding and skills workshops.
We respect and promote the rights of people with a learning disability and their families to speak up on issues both locally and nationally. We aim to raise awareness, change attitudes and influence policy.
LOCKDOWN UPDATE
We are running all our regular groups online. We have even added two new activities to our weekly timetable – Thursday Fit Class and Friday Sign with Steve. Please visit our What’s On page for the details of all our groups.
We are offering Walk & Talks to members and continue to stay in touch by phone to those who don’t have access to the internet. If you would like to arrange a Walk & Talk please ring 01962 600281, 07448 804069 or 07949 093341 and leave a message. Alternatively contact us by email: info@winchestergold.org.uk.
We’re looking for ways that our supporters can help raise money for us through sponsored challenges during lockdown. How about something exercise based like a sponsored walk round the garden or a Remote Pub Quiz night using FaceTime? We’d love to hear your ideas.
Staff are committed to continuing the vital work that Winchester Go LD does at a time where our members need it the most – support for social isolation, healthy living, loneliness, exercise, companionship, reassurance. Any fundraising or donations we can get really helps – however big or small.
Donations can be made here. Your funding can really make a difference.
Membership is free to adults with learning disabilities living in the Winchester area.
If you would like to become a member please download the Go LD Membership Form here and email us on info@winchestergold.org.uk.
